Dr Robert Wei

Dr Robert Wei studied a bachelor of dental science at the University of Melbourne and finished with honours in 2012. He then practiced general dentistry in metropolitan Melbourne and the Shoalhaven region.

Following three years of general practice, Dr Wei completed his three year orthodontic specialty training, a doctor of clinical dentistry, at the Melbourne Dental School in 2018.

The Milton R Sims Award is given to the most meritorious orthodontic trainee across Australia and New Zealand in a two year period by the Australian Society of Orthodontists Foundation for Research and Education. Dr Wei was the 2020 Milton R Sims Award recipient for academic, research and clinical excellence.

Dr Wei has also published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, as well as the Australian Dental Journal.

After four years of specialist practice in Belconnen and Gunghalin, Dr Wei chose to continue to practice orthodontics in Canberra. He was then offered the opportunity to take over Tran Lam Orthodontist in Canberra. Dr Wei and his team are dedicated to continuing to provide personalised orthodontic treatment, in a calm and nurturing environment for both kids and adults.

For patients and parents who are more comfortable speaking in Mandarin, Dr Wei speaks Mandarin at a conversational level.
